To be eligible for this position, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school, have satisfactorily completed the Junior year of a BSN program or the First year of an ADN program, and maintain a 3.00 minimum cumulative GPA.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider Certification, valid for at least 6 months beyond the start date.

Regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods, performing repetitive typing tasks, lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds, standing/walking with objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds, and occasional exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials. Exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals, and blood‑borne or airborne pathogens is also possible.

Will be required to work 300 hours during Summer 2026, full觀中 hours (36–40 hours per week), with days, evenings, nights, some weekends, and holidays. Must be flexible and prepared to work preceptor’s schedule regardless of day or shift.

The University of Kentucky Health Care (UKHC) Enterprise seeks applicants for the Student Nurse Practicum (SNAP)/Externship. This is a paid clinical practicum to be completed May – August 2026. The practicum immerses student nurses in hands‑on bedside nursing, working under the supervision of an RN preceptor/mentor. Students apply knowledge from their program, emphasize critical thinking, manage responsibilities, develop skill proficiency, and maintain professionalism.

• Function as a member of a nursing team under direct supervision.

• Complete 300 clinical hours between May 2026 – August 2026.

• Document hours with preceptor/mentor and Patient Care Manager.
• Maintain the required number of hours; failure to do so results in removal from the program.
• Approach each clinical area with professionalism and critical thinking.

• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.

• Professional appearance and attitude in the clinical setting.

• Completion of 300 clinical hours is mandatory.

GPA of 3.25 or higher for Nursing and cumulative preferred. These may be considered in selection and placement decisions.
Preferred experience in critical care or similar settings.
