APP Gastroenterology​/UKHC

Overview

The APP Gastroenterology works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide GI consultation and management of outpatients through the UKHC system. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as a member of the GI practice and acts as the expert to assist with chronic and acute conditions within the outpatient setting. The APP coordinates care for outpatients in the ambulatory setting in the KY Clinic and subspecializes in General Gastroenterological disease states within the GI Division.

The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and/or nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism in communication, timely and compliant documentation, and ongoing professional development and competency validation.

• Provide GI consultation and management of outpatients within the UKHC system.

• Required Education: MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants.
• Required License/Registration/Certification:
  Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).
• Required Related Experience:
  No experience required.
• Physical Requirements:
  Regularly sitting, standing, and walking with some lifting up to 10 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
