Position Summary:
The Managing Clinic Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the leadership and clinical oversight of all rehabilitation services at Bluegrass Orthopaedics, including physical therapy and occupational therapy. This role supervises director-level staff who oversee all department-level staff, and manages administrative functions such as budgeting, program development, and performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Vice President of Physical Therapy at Growth Orthopedics.
In addition to leadership duties, the position will maintain a patient caseload to provide direct care and support clinical excellence through direct patient care.
- Conducts screening of patients at regular intervals to determine need for additional intervention/treatment and/or modifications.
- Evaluates patients to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation.
- Conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.
- Records evaluation data according to PT standards of practice and clinic policy.
- Interprets data, formulates goals and treatment plans, and coordinates with patient, family, and other team members throughout treatment.
- Provides physical therapy services to patients in accordance with PT guidelines and clinic policy.
- Monitors patient’s response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with treatment plan and physician orders.
- Reviews the quality and appropriateness of individual physical therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.
- Adapts treatment to meet individual needs of the patient.
- Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patients, families, referring providers, and other team members.
- Develops appropriate home programs to maintain and enhance patient performance.
- Documents results of patient’s assessment, treatment, follow-up, and discharge from services.
- Records billable treatment times according to clinic procedures.
- Accurately documents patient/family involvement in the medical record as per clinic policy.
- Completes daily/weekly progress notes and patient reassessments with changes noted in functional and physical status, goals and treatment plans.
- Ensures all documentation is completed timely.
- Provides/recommends/fabricates adaptive devices or other equipment.
- Trains patients, families, and appropriate staff in the use of adaptive equipment and/or devices to ensure optimum safety and outcomes.
- Complies with Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrates understanding of CMS and other regulatory requirements for delivery of patient care.
- Manages clinical care to achieve Quality Index Minimal Productivity Standards (QIMPS).
- Demonstrates knowledge of compliance policies and emergency and disaster procedures of the facility.
- Participates in relevant in-service training sessions.
- Promotes and protects patients’ rights (including HIPAA); treats patients with dignity and respect; reports suspected abuse or neglect.
