Community Corrections Recruit
The starting salary is $24.931 per hour (recruiting incentive up to $3,000). This is a non-exempt position, eligible for overtime, if applicable. Pay Grade 110.

Duties involve the direct daily supervision, security, and control of adult offenders.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Minimum of high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. (Must present proof of citizenship)
- Must be at least 21 years of age and provide a copy of a state-issued birth certificate.
- Must have a valid driver's license. (Out-of-state licenses must be transferred to Kentucky according to Kentucky State regulations)
- Must not have been terminated from any job in the past year.
- Must be willing to work any shift and call back duty.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor.
- Must have the strength and agility to allow the employee to perform job duties, which would be found at the level of medium work (i.e., exerting 20-50 pounds of force) and including occasional very heavy work, (i.e., exerting in excess of 100 pounds.)
- For Veteran's preference, applicants must submit a copy of Form DD 214.
- Because of the nature of the work, individuals shall submit to a background check as part of the examination process and must successfully complete it before being eligible for certification and/or employment.
Applicants must pass a written test that assesses both cognitive and aptitude skills needed to be successful in the position of Corrections Officer (a score of 70 or above must be attained). Study guides are available for check-out; contact to make a request for one. Those passing the written exam will be invited to an interview. Based on the interview, a certain number of individuals will be required to submit to a background check and physical exam that includes drug testing.
You must successfully complete each component to be placed on the eligibility list.
