Transportation Roadway Intern; Spring​/Summer

As an intern, you’ll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands‑on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

We are looking for a highly motivated Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern for our Lexington, KY Transportation Roadway Engineering group.

With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we’re equipped with state‑of‑the‑art survey tools, simulation models, specialized design software, and computer‑aided design and drafting (CADD) facilities. The ongoing success of our team allows you to set the pace of your career. This is a paid internship with full‑time hours during the summer and a reduced schedule during the semester.

In‑person work is expected.

• Development of roadway plans using Microstation and Open Roads
• Project documentation, quantity calculations and general office assignments using Microsoft Office tools
• Occasional field work

• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience using Microstation and Open Roads preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Position requires driving a company vehicle at times. A clean driving record free from significant or frequent driving offenses is required.

Interested candidates should be working toward a degree in Civil Engineering. Preferred graduation date would be December 2025 or later. GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Summary:
