The Hydrographic Surveyor is expected to perform hydrographic surveys in a professional, timely, and safe manner, that satisfies the client's requirements. The Hydrographic Surveyor will be responsible for survey project planning, coordination, execution of fieldwork, and production of project deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Survey project schedules and forecasts.
- Planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
- Direct and perform single-beam, multi-beam, and sonar imaging surveys.
- On-site safety, directing, and documenting safety meetings.
- Adhere to quality assurance procedures.
- Knowledge of surveying equipment and software.
- Ensure survey equipment is in good working condition and properly report any deficiencies.
- Operate survey vessels and associated support equipment.
- Assist with the development of survey procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of project scopes and estimates.
- Plan and execute project quality control and assurance procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or certification
- Minimum 4 years of experience.
- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in the area of practice.
- High level leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
- 4-Year degree from an accredited college or university with a course in engineering or closely related field
- AutoCAD or Micro Station proficiency
- Certified Hydrographer
- 10hrOSHA General Construction Course
The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While in the field, the intern may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.
