The minimum salary is $91,534.56 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe purpose of this position is to manage public infrastructure projects by performing advanced level engineering duties that protect the welfare of the public and the environment for capital, storm and sanitary sewer, residential, and/or commercial development and construction, from conception to completion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field
- Six (6) years of engineering experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Manages major projects involving preparation, review, and supervision of designs, specifications, plans, contracts, applications, estimates, and reports involved in the construction and operation of a wide variety of civil engineering work
- Performs field surveys, inspections, investigations, and/or evaluations
- Manages project funding, grants, invoices, and payments
- Prepares for and attends Committee, Commission, Council, and other related meetings
- Maintains communication with all internal and external stakeholders and responds to all requests and inquiries
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of subordinates and/or contractors
- Performs related work as assigned
VALID KY PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER LICENSE (Kentucky Professional Engineer License; equivalent from another state must obtain a Kentucky Professional Engineer License within six (6) months of employment as a condition for permanent appointment)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMay be subject to work weekends, holidays, and callback duty.
In accordance with CAO Policy 23R “Acquisition of Real Property From Property Owners under Certain Notices and/or Orders”, no employee who works in a Division with regulatory or civil enforcement authority over real property located in Fayette County shall acquire an interest in real property in Fayette County with any outstanding citation, notice or order from the Division in which he or she works regardless of whether the citation, notice, or order was issued by the employee or someone else in the Division.
This policy extends to immediate family members and the Commissioner of the Department in which the identified employee is employed. Employees may be required to disclose all real property owned by the employee as well as his/her immediate family members. Property and business ownership exemptions may apply. All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
