GIS/Siting Specialist

Role Description

As a GIS/Siting Specialist, you will support environmental planning and permitting projects with a focus on siting and routing. Your responsibilities include creating and maintaining constraints databases; providing GIS analysis for routing and siting studies; preparing maps and graphics; assisting with state Public Utilities Commission (PUC) siting applications; and supporting public outreach efforts. You will help drive efficiency by improving workflows through data standardization, automation, and tool creation, and you will assist in growing new and existing client relationships through the delivery of quality work.

Qualifications

& Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, biology, ecology, or a similar discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience as a GIS Specialist in environmental consulting. Equivalent experience with environmental agencies or commercial entities may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with the ESRI product suite, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Strong data management skills: creating, editing, and converting GIS data following prescribed protocols.
  • Experience visualizing geographic data for print and web products.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating with scientists, engineers, archaeologists, and other specialists to develop environmental documents.
  • Preferred:
    Experience supporting state PUC filings in the Midwestern and Eastern US.
  • Preferred:
    Experience developing, managing, and maintaining web map services and applications (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Field Maps).
  • Preferred:
    Familiarity with workflow automation using Model Builder or Python.
Benefits & Compensation

The salary range for this position is $61,200 - $91,800, based on experience, education, and location. Full‑time benefits include medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401(k), STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, nine paid holidays, and 15 days of PTO per year.
