At least three years of research experience with an established track record of independent research (first/last authored papers and/or extramural funding) and evidence of potential for growth as a supervisor and educator.
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics who will conduct independent research, publish novel scientific findings, and obtain extramural funding. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing relevant literature, writing manuscripts, submitting grant proposals, supervising technical staff, and directing post‑doctoral fellows. Duties include participation in departmental teaching activities, lecturing in areas of expertise, directing courses as appropriate, and developing new courses that may benefit the University.
The individual will also expand academic accomplishments by presenting research at national and international meetings, managing an extramurally funded independent research program, mentoring postdoctoral fellows, MD/PhD students, and graduate students, and ensuring compliance with University, Commonwealth, and federal research regulations.
Conducting independent research with a demonstrated record of publication and funding. Ability to supervise and mentor trainees. Experience in grant writing and compliance with federal and institutional research policies.
