Physical Requirements: Some lifting of children, ability to get down on and up from the floor. Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.

Shift: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM – 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday.

Job Summary

The Early Childhood Lab within the College of Education serves as a model site for training teachers. The Infant/Toddler Teacher responsibilities at the Early Childhood Lab are:

  • Supervise 6–8 infants and toddlers in a classroom setting
  • Plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all the children.
  • Children are assessed by the teacher, and individual goals are incorporated into the curriculum.
  • The teacher collaborates with First Steps and families to provide services for children with and without disabilities.
  • The Infant/Toddler Teacher also provides a model classroom and is an active participant in observations by UK students and student workers.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.

IECE or seeking IECE at the Master’s Level
