• Conduct innovative, rigorous, grant‑funded research in substance use/substance use disorder using behavioral science methods.
• Publish peer‑reviewed articles and present at conferences.
• Teach undergraduate courses in the Lewis Honors College and provide behavioral‑oriented training for medical students in the College of Medicine.
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, facilitate their research training programs, and support mentorship initiatives.
• Participate in and contribute to university‑wide research and training initiatives across the 16 colleges, including grant consultation, dynamic speaker series, annual Substance Use Research Event, pilot project competitions, and public outreach.
• Collaborate with University of Kentucky Centers such as the UK Cannabis Center, Center on Drug and Alcohol Research (CDAR), and Center for Health, Engagement, and Transformation (CHET).

• Early‑career applicant (e.g., Assistant Professor) with NIH‑funded research or a strong promise of such funding.
• Demonstrated focus on substance use/substance use disorder.
• Experience or expertise in psychology, sociology, behavioral pharmacology, epidemiology, or addiction medicine.
• Commitment to research mentorship and collaborative orientation.
• Leadership skills and capacity for training and education.
