You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Lexington Parks and Recreation is looking for a Lifeguard Instructor for the summer 2026 aquatic season.

• Responsibilities include provide a safe and encouraging learning environment for both youth and adult participants.
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with all participants, parents/guardians, staff, property representatives, and Co-instructors.
• Use corrective feedback to evaluate participants’ progress and correct problems.
• Prepare lesson plans for each class session ahead of time, including reading the lessons before class and being prepared to answer any questions.
• (Courses will follow the approved program guidelines and requirements).
• Responsible for the knowledge and understanding of the policies, procedures, and Instructor responsibilities.
• Maintain assigned training equipment and ensure proper supplies before instruction begins.
• Serve as in-service trainer to pool(s) you are assigned to.

• Possession of a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or be able to achieve this before start date. Certification opportunities provided and paid for.
