Job Summary

The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) at the University of Kentucky seeks to hire a Faculty/Instructional Consultant who will support the development of effective, engaging, and innovative teaching and learning environments.

The applicant should have experience teaching in higher education, as well as working with faculty and/or other instructors to integrate teaching strategies into their own programs and practices across the disciplines. The Faculty/Instructional Consultant will coach and advise faculty one-on-one, conduct workshops, and collaborate with a larger team in designing large-scale, college and university-wide initiatives that reimagine learning goals in light of the changing landscape of higher education.

The successful applicant will assume an active support role in envisioning how pedagogy can be enhanced in both traditional and technology-enhanced environments at the University of Kentucky.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Deep training, preferably a PhD or another terminal degree, in an academic discipline. All specializations are invited to apply. The appointment comes with the possibility of teaching, either in an academic discipline or in the Preparing Future Faculty program.
  • Essential qualifications include: a demonstrated commitment to active learning; excellent writing, communication and public speaking skills; the ability to work effectively on a team; a broad knowledge of technological platforms and tools that can aid learning.
