Physical Requirements:

Field work required with safe ability to navigate outdoor terrain. Field work will be supervised. Long periods of sitting or standing. Safely lift up to 50 lbs. Shift: Up to 30 hours per week within the Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm time frame.

Job Summary

A Learning Hub scholar will work with Dr. Junfeng Zhu at KGS on the EPSCOR CLIMBS Learning Hub program during Year 2 of the CLIMBS project.

The Learning Hub program Year 2 runs from 7/1/2025 to 6/30/2026. The Learning Hub scholar will join a cohort of professors and students from different universities to participate field-oriented research activities, online courses, and web-conferences. The Learning Hub scholar will also work with Dr. Junfeng Zhu to develop project objectives and scientific hypotheses to carry out their research. Experiments and field data collection will be carried out to support the research investigations, followed by analyses and presentation at the Learning Hub Conference in the spring of 2026.

Microsoft Office, GIS experience

Preferred Education/Experience

Major in Earth Science or related fields with experience collecting field data.
