Job SummaryThe College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a College Staff Officer to support the Dean’s Office and the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement. This position provides comprehensive administrative and operational support for Faculty Affairs, serving as the primary lead for key faculty processes, including the annual Faculty Merit Evaluation and Review (FMER) and promotion and tenure (P&T) cycles. The role also provides confidential senior‑level support on faculty grievances, appointments, professorships, administrative appointments, and related Faculty Affairs matters.
Additional responsibilities include managing faculty processes such as sabbaticals and leaves, progress reviews, administrative appointments, distribution of effort agreements, and faculty awards, as well as supporting process improvement efforts across Faculty Advancement functions. The College Staff Officer maintains faculty records and communications, ensures compliance with university policies, and supports special projects and events for the Dean’s Office. The position ensures consistent office operations by drafting correspondence, editing reports, coordinating meetings and travel, and serving as a liaison with faculty, college leadership, and campus partners.
Success in this role requires strong organizational and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities while fostering effective working relationships across the university.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with individuals across the organization to include advising, communication, and regulatory compliance. Must possess strong analysis and judgement.
