Required
Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing required; DNP or PhD preferred.
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of BSN‑prepared professional clinical practice nursing experience within the last 5 years.
Required License: Active unencumbered Kentucky registered nurse license and minimum of 2 years BSN‑prepared related professional clinical practice nursing experience within the last 5 years.
Job Summary: The University of Kentucky College of Nursing Undergraduate Program is seeking a Lecturer Title Series for a 9‑month appointment. The anticipated distribution of effort is approximately 90% teaching and advising, and 10% service/professional development, which will be reviewed annually. The start date is January 1, 2026, but no later than March 1, 2026. This position, onsite in Lexington, KY, will assist and resource the Undergraduate BSN program within the College of Nursing.
The role requires teaching of fundamental and advanced nursing skills, supervision of nursing students in simulated settings, advising students, involvement in college committees, and possible clinical practice and scholarship. The lecturer should also be a member of professional organizations and ideally have experience teaching BSN students in adult‑health core curricular areas such as health assessment, health promotion, medical‑surgical nursing, or pathopharmacology.
Qualifications:
- Earned Master’s Degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD preferred).
- Active Kentucky registered nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years BSN‑prepared professional clinical practice nursing experience within the last 5 years.
- Experience teaching BSN students in one or more of the following core courses: health assessment, health promotion, medical‑surgical nursing, or pathopharmacology.
- Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Preferred Education/
Experience:
Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education and experience teaching BSN students in core adult‑health nursing areas.
