Overview

We are recruiting a Cardiologist EP to serve as a full-time medical service physician at the VAMC Lexington. The position reports to the Chief of Cardiology and is responsible for delivering state‑of‑the‑art care while meeting compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care at Lexington VA Medical Center
  • Perform invasive electrophysiology procedures including cardiac device implantation, catheter ablation of supra ventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, and left atrial appendage occlusion
  • Supervise APRN electrophysiology providers
  • Manage and supervise the implanted cardiac rhythm device program and clinic, including CIED remote monitoring
  • Participate in process improvement, quality assurance, and other administrative duties assigned by the Chief
  • Interpret ECGs and ambulatory monitors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief – Cardiology Section
Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements listed below Additional requirements may apply.

Basic Requirements
  • United States citizenship (non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy)
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree, obtained from an accredited school approved by the VA for the year in which the course of study was completed
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia
  • Residency training in an accredited core specialty program approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
