Physician (Cardiac EP)

Lexington, KY | Full-time | $350,000–$400,000 per year
OverviewWe are recruiting a Cardiologist EP to serve as a full-time medical service physician at the VAMC Lexington. The position reports to the Chief of Cardiology and is responsible for delivering state‑of‑the‑art care while meeting compliance standards.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care at Lexington VA Medical Center
- Perform invasive electrophysiology procedures including cardiac device implantation, catheter ablation of supra ventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, and left atrial appendage occlusion
- Supervise APRN electrophysiology providers
- Manage and supervise the implanted cardiac rhythm device program and clinic, including CIED remote monitoring
- Participate in process improvement, quality assurance, and other administrative duties assigned by the Chief
- Interpret ECGs and ambulatory monitors
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief – Cardiology Section
To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements listed below Additional requirements may apply.
Basic Requirements- United States citizenship (non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy)
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree, obtained from an accredited school approved by the VA for the year in which the course of study was completed
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia
- Residency training in an accredited core specialty program approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
