Job Summary

The University of Kentucky Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) seeks a qualified family physician to join our Lexington-based clinic. Faculty physicians will practice non-surgical obstetrics, oversee prenatal care and deliver for resident continuity patients at UK Health Care Good Samaritan Hospital. Faculty assist in resident education in the Family Medicine Residency Program in outpatient and inpatient settings and participate in all four years of medical student education, including the required Family Medicine clerkship.

DFCM has additional primary care practices in Georgetown, Hazard, and Hindman, including an independent rural residency program in Hazard. The department is a national leader in value-based clinical redesign, transitional care management, and population medicine. Faculty opportunities include leadership in population medicine, research networks, and academic programs. Responsibilities
  • Practice non-surgical obstetrics and provide prenatal care.
  • Oversee deliveries for resident continuity patients.
  • Assist in education of residents in the Family Medicine Residency Program in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Participate in all four years of medical student education, including the required clerkship in Family Medicine.
  • Participate in departmental leadership in population medicine, practice-based research network, and academic programs.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO required.
  • Completion of residency program and board certification required.
  • Unrestricted Kentucky medical license required.
  • Faculty position: full-time, tenure-track or non‑tenure‑track status.
