Physical Requirements:

Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods; repetitive motion; standing or walking with objects up to 25 lbs; lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with one hour lunch, (40 hrs/wk). Hours may be modified on occasion to meet patient care needs.

Job Summary

The Dental Treatment Coordinator supports the delivery of care within the Student Dental Clinic by coordinating treatment transitions, patient education, and administrative logistics within UK Health Care Dentistry. This position serves as a liaison between general dentists, dental students, supervising faculty, and other specialty providers to ensure patients receive timely and well-coordinated care throughout their treatment plan.

Key responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, facilitating financial arrangements prior to treatment, and coordinating appointments for procedures, imaging, or related consultations within the student clinic. The coordinator ensures treatment plans are accurately entered into the EHR and helps patients understand the clinical and emotional aspects of their dental care. They also monitor case acceptance rates and follow up with patients throughout the course of care to support treatment completion and satisfaction.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the effectiveness of the Orthodontics clinics teams.
