8). Under the direction of the Public Ticketing Manager, with specific supervision provided by his/her designees, assisting in the coordination and operations of ticketing and admissions functions for the 2026 Spring Meet.
This internship is designed to expose the individual to all aspects of ticket operations, while using the Etix ticketing system. The objective of the internship is to help the individual learn all aspects of ticketing for thoroughbred racing, including customer service management, day-to-day operations, race day management, and a greater understanding of the Patron Experience department.
Throughout the year interns will have the opportunity to participate in educational and interactive career development programming, as well support other departments including Promotions, Marketing, Guest Services, Special Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality.
Race day responsibilities include:
- Assisting Public Ticketing Manager with gates operations, monitoring patron flow and general patron experience operations.
- Assisting Will Call staff.
- Assisting with Customer Service emails/phone calls.
- Assisting with the daily operations of the Ticket Office and Admissions. This would include answering customer service emails, selling tickets, processing ticket sales, and assisting patrons. Other duties as assigned.
- Sports Administration, Sales, Marketing, Communications or related business majors preferred.
- Previous ticket office experience would be beneficial.
- Willingness to learn Etix ticketing software.
- Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others as a Keeneland team member.
- Flexibility for accepting unique task assignments as needed.
- This position requires flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, and weekends in addition to weekly office hours. Must work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the Spring Meets.
