Responsibilities

  • Assist the branch in meeting monthly performance standards in addition to individual performance standards.
  • Interview members and process applications for all types of consumer loans; review applications and documentation for completeness and accuracy according to credit union compliance guidelines.
  • Conduct all member account functions, including processing requests for new services, providing counseling, and cross‑selling appropriate credit union products or services to benefit the member and achieve established sales goals.
  • Assist members with opening and closing accounts, answer questions about products and services, and resolve problems that are within their authority. Refer problems beyond authority to a supervisor, along with recommendations.
  • Accurately receive, inspect and verify cash and negotiable instruments for deposit; accept loan payments and other monetary transactions as directed; balance transaction input at the end of each workday.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned by the manager.
Education & Experience
  • A high school education or GED.
  • One to three years of similar or related experience.

  • Accurately process account entries and transactions; write routine reports and construct professional, grammatically correct correspondence.

  • Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and compute rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.

  • Process members’ financial transactions, resolve problems, and answer questions regarding Y-12 Federal Credit Union products and services within established authority.
  • Participate actively in branch/department meetings to maintain awareness of organizational issues and promotional campaigns; stay current on changes in policies, procedures, compliance, and product development.
  • Attend continuing education classes to enhance job knowledge and performance; take initiative for personal career development and seek opportunities to learn new skills.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit. The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

May be exposed to mild to moderate stress levels associated with the performance of the job duties described.
