The Project Manager leads and oversees commercial HVAC construction projects and retrofits, ensuring quality, safety, on-time delivery, and profitability. Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage teams of superintendents, field personnel, and subcontractors while collaborating closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative mechanical solutions that enhance building performance and client satisfaction. This role supports Comfort and Process Solutions' commitment to building innovation, sustainability, and long-term client partnerships within the Modigent family of companies.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
  • Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to identify risks, opportunities, scope gaps, and value-engineering potential prior to project start.
  • Develop realistic project schedules, budgets, and resource plans that align with client goals, contract requirements, and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and operations teams to establish clear milestones and ensure seamless project handoff and execution.
  • Proactively resolve issues, turning potential challenges into opportunities through creative problem-solving and risk mitigation.
Financial & Budget Management
  • Track project costs in real time, forecast projections accurately, and identify variances early.
  • Monitor budgets diligently, capture change orders, and pursue opportunities to enhance profitability without compromising quality or safety.
  • Maintain precise documentation of scope changes, costs, and execution details to support billing, claims, and closeout.
Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead and motivate superintendents, field crews, and subcontractors to achieve high performance and accountability.
  • Set clear objectives, delegate effectively, and track team member progress; support development, training, and recognition.
  • Foster open communication across the project team, clients, and stakeholders through regular coordination meetings, site walks, and proactive updates.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and supervising high-caliber personnel as needed.
Quality, Safety & Client Satisfaction
  • Uphold and exceed industry standards for commercial HVAC installation, retrofit, and commissioning work (chillers, boilers, VRF, building automation, piping, etc.).
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and job-site inspections to prevent callbacks, warranty issues, and ensure client delight.
  • Perform client walk-throughs and maintain strong, proactive relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety policies, project-specific requirements, PPE usage, and coordination with safety personnel for a zero-incident jobsite.
Relationship Building & Business Development
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with clients, architects, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors to support future opportunities.
  • Proactively engage with the construction community to identify and initiate new commercial HVAC projects and retrofits.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractors efficiently to maintain project momentum and overall success.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven experience managing commercial HVAC construction and/or retrofit projects (e.g., chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VRF systems, building automation, industrial piping).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled at multitasking with exceptional follow-through.
  • Professional demeanor, punctuality, and commitment to safety-sensitive environments.
  • Experience with government or institutional facilities is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools/software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar) preferred.
