Salary and Benefits- The minimum salary is $71,720.48 annually
. - This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of 40 hours.
- Pay Grade 525

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe purpose of this classification is to perform a lead role in managing the computer systems of a large public safety division to ensure continuous, mission‑critical operation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another field related to the job
- Six years of related information technology experience, in which at least three of those years must be in a related supervisory/management capacity
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
- There are no substitutes for the required supervisory/management experience
- Evaluates current technologies/systems and develops, tests, installs, and/or implements new or improved systems
- Manages and monitors computer and/or mobile data communication systems, software and networks; performs maintenance/updates as needed
- Performs duties related to the assigned division, such as developing and maintaining GIS data or managing video/camera security
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships with internal and external customers and service providers
- Performs other administrative duties such as maintaining databases, creating reports, and documenting
- May supervise the work of subordinates
- Performs related work as assigned
