ALL ABOUT STYLE: A team of consultants who meet guests where they are and deliver for them through operations, guest experience, and visual merchandising presentations that inspire guests and build the basket. A Style Consultant is focused on strong operations and providing an incredible guest experience, enabling quick and easy self-discovery. Style Consultants welcome guests on the sales floor and in the fitting room;

they ensure the floor is set with the right product, pricing, and signage (sizes, styles, colors).

At Target, we believe in team members having meaningful experiences that help them build and develop skills for a career. The role of a Style Consultant can provide experience in:

  • Guest service fundamentals and supporting a guest-first culture
  • Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, pricing and promotions, and basic visual merchandising
  • Industry trends including style, seasonality, and brand differentiation
  • Set, fill, and price the floor according to guest priorities

Responsibilities (typical day):

  • Drive sales and maintain a guest-ready floor by executing visual standards, promotional signing, and staying knowledgeable on assortment and brand offerings
  • Use store tools to understand sales and inventory, and support guest needs
  • Sort freight, move merchandise to the salesfloor, and locate items in the backroom as needed
  • Set visual presentations and merchandising guides to support guest experience and sales
  • Maintain product availability and a full floor through priority fills and merchandising
  • Maintain backroom organization to support replenishment and guest requests
  • Remerchandise presentations as items sell through
  • Support price changes and signing during promotions
  • Maintain and use fitting rooms to welcome and assist guests
  • Support fulfillment and guest needs by moving merchandise from fitting rooms to the salesfloor
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Work safely and report hazards; comply with safety policies and training
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) with compliance to laws
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with needs
  • Conclude interactions with thanks and goodwill
  • All other duties based on business needs
Qualifications & What We’re Looking For

Training is provided; from the start you should have:

  • Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products

  • Ability to use handheld scanners and store technology
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to resolve guest questions quickly
  • Focus and composure in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multi-task

Additional basics we expect:

  • Accurate cash handling as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Safe handling and movement of merchandise (up to 15 pounds regularly; up to 44 pounds occasionally)
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties such as Drive-Up
  • Mobility for the duration of a shift
