About The Role
Med Mark Services, Inc., a Bay Mark Health Services company, is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across our addiction treatment organization. This role plays a critical part in fostering a respectful, compliant, and mission-driven workplace while supporting leaders through complex employee relations matters in a highly regulated behavioral healthcare environment.
DescriptionEmployee Relations Specialist partners closely with clinical and operational leadership to manage workplace concerns, conduct investigations, and ensure consistent application of policies and employment laws.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
- Conduct objective, thorough employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate outcomes
- Coach and support leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and documentation standards
- Review and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all disciplinary and PIP documentation
- Facilitate productive conversations that promote accountability, resolution, and positive employee experiences
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in HR systems, including Exponent
HR and - Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Leave Administration teams as needed
- Act as a subject matter expert on employee relations, providing guidance, training, and process improvement recommendations
- Support job description creation and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and FLSA compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of employee relations experience, including investigations and performance management
- Experience supporting multi-site, multi-state operations, including working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA; California experience preferred)
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS platforms (Exponent
HR) and project tools () preferred - HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
