Construction Estimator

We are seeking a diligent Estimator to join our team at Viva Railings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for our railing projects, ensuring they align with the client's budget and our company's standards. This role involves close collaboration with contractors and internal teams to evaluate risks, estimate timelines, and maintain the financial integrity of projects.

• Understand the project requirements and specifications, particularly in the context of railing systems.
• Determine key variables for cost estimates including materials, labor, and time.
• Gather information from project sites, warehouses, and other relevant venues.
• Conduct thorough research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, and other pertinent factors.
• Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting specific to railing systems.
• Review and analyze offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
• Perform risk analysis to identify potential financial or project-related risks.
• Create and submit detailed estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
• Provide consultation on project planning, including schedules and manpower needs.

• Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar position, preferably in the construction or railing manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with financial and project management principles relevant to the manufacturing and construction sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas.
• Strong mathematical and IT skills, with an analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid).
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
• Thoroughness, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or a relevant discipline.
• Certification as a Professional Estimator (CPE) would be an asset.
