Position OverviewThe Land Development Engineering Lead for the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) region will spearhead the growth, direction, and performance of McAdams’ Land Development Design practice. This leader will build and sustain strong relationships with private developers, municipal partners, and key regional stakeholders across North Texas while leading a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team delivering exceptional residential, commercial, and mixed‑use projects.
As Lead, you will be accountable for operational excellence, project delivery quality, and business development results, ensuring consistent execution aligned with McAdams’ standards and culture. The role champions talent development—coaching, mentoring, and expanding the team to support growth, elevate technical excellence, and strengthen McAdams’ presence in the DFW market.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic direction, vision, and growth of the DFW Land Development practice.
- Cultivate trusted relationships with North Texas developers, landowners, municipalities, and reviewing agencies.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and lead pursuit strategies for major development projects.
- Oversee execution of large‑scale, multidisciplinary land development projects with strong project controls and financial performance.
- Ensure predictable project outcomes through effective scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Recruit, hire, and develop high‑performing teams to support long‑term practice growth.
- Mentor staff and promote a collaborative, learning‑focused environment that supports career development.
- Drive operational excellence, resource planning, and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- 12–20+ years of progressive experience in land development engineering.
- Proven leadership delivering large‑scale residential, commercial, and mixed‑use projects.
- Strong credibility with North Texas developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex project portfolios.
- Experience in business development and growing a regional practice.
- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and emotional intelligence.
- Work primarily in an office setting with standard physical requirements such as sitting, typing, and extended computer use.
- Occasional travel within the DFW region for client meetings, site visits, or industry events.
- Repetitive motions (typing, writing, using a mouse). Must have visual acuity for computer screens, ability to speak, hear, and sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to carry, lift, and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
