Full Time – Sr. Director of Accounting
Reporting directly to the VP, Corporate Controller, and the SR. Director of Accounting for Bay Mark Health Services, Inc. is responsible for the accuracy of accounts receivable, bad debt expense and allowance for doubtful accounts. In addition, the role is responsible for the reconciliation of the data sets used to calculate bad debt by line of business.
- Act as a detail-oriented working leader to perform and support the reconciliation of accounts receivable in the general ledger to the aged balances across seven different EMR systems
- Perform the triangle-of-truth reconciliation for both revenue and cash to triangulate accuracy between the various EMR systems, the G/L and the Company’s “Data Lake”
- Act as a liaison with the external audit team, responding to inquiries in a timely manner and meeting audit deadlines
- Record monthly bad debt entries by line of business by pre-determined close deadlines
- Ensure that A/R reconciles to the aged A/R Sub ledger within the multiple EMR systems
- Resolves complex accounting issues by performing GAAP research and documenting conclusions
- Direct the activities of the department in the process of reviewing/approving/posting of monthly journal entries
- Ensure proper balance sheet reconciliations
- Support clinics by responding promptly and accurately to financial inquiries
- Support the annual budget process through interface with Financial Planning & Analysis staff
- Provide leadership for the annual financial audit process and special audits during the year
- Ensure all monthly processes are documented with accurate and complete desktop procedures
- Document and Monitor internal controls and propose improvements where necessary
- Ensure proper financial reporting for assigned G/L accounts in compliance with GAAP
- Comply with Bay Mark policies and procedures, Compliance Policy and Code of Ethics
- Conduct special projects and other duties, as assigned by management
- Required, Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study
- Required, Seven (7) years of related work experience
- Required:
Either CPA certification or two (2) years of related public accounting experience in audit with CPA in process - Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be a power user of Excel
- Must be able to clean, restructure, and consolidate massive datasets (200k+ rows) from disparate sources using Power BI
- Experience working with Great Plains is a plus
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and possess strong analytical and organizational skills in managing multiple projects
- Must be able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment in which attention to detail and audit-trail documentation must be maintained in the face of multiple competing demands for your time
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision
- Ability to effectively direct and supervise
- Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
