.
The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing meals, nourishment, and snacks for residents with mental health disorders in a state long‑term care facility. Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor and Head Cook, food is prepared and served to provide nutrition and a pleasant dining experience for residents while meeting the standards and regulations set forth by the Department of Health, Medicaid, and dietary guidelines.

Physical and Environmental DemandsMust be able to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely. Work closely with co‑workers in limited space and maintain positive work relations.
- Lift 15 lbs frequently / 50 lbs occasionally.
- Carry 15 lbs occasionally.
- Push/Pull force 25 lbs frequently, up to 80 lbs.
Reach forward & down frequently/above the shoulders occasionally. Stand or walk for extended periods on tile floors. Handle or grasp up to 80% of a shift, with repetitive hand motions. Must tolerate extreme heat & humidity and regular exposure to odors, fumes, and noise from equipment.

- Working knowledge of kitchen sanitation, safety & equipment.
- Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers and residents.
- Ability to follow instructions.

- No prior work experience required.
