Registered Nurse - Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care & Transitional Rehabilitation

Job Summary

The RN partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. This position involves working across various units including specialized Alzheimer’s/Dementia care and a Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, while tailoring care to meet the unique needs of the patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents, focusing on both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.
  • Understand and effectively manage the behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, ensuring they are viewed as valid communication.
  • Deliver essential care to residents requiring long-term placement in a supportive home-like environment.
  • Administer short-term, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in the Transitional Rehabilitation Unit for patients recovering from various medical conditions.
  • Perform nursing services including IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
Schedule

This position offers day shifts (7 a.m.

- 7:30 p.m.) or night shifts (7 p.m.

- 7:30 a.m.).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Valid State of Maine or compact RN license is required.
  • 1-3 years of previous RN experience preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
  • Flexibility to cover 24 hours/day, 7 days per week, including the willingness to float to other units as needed.
Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
