Job Summary
The Registered Nurse partners with residents and interdisciplinary care teams to create a safe, therapeutic, and comfortable environment. This role provides both direct and indirect nursing care across post-acute, long-term care, and skilled nursing units, supporting residents with both short-term rehabilitation and long-term placement needs.
Units May Include
Specialized Memory Care Unit:
A long-term care unit serving residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Nursing care focuses on individualized approaches, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, and understanding behavioral expressions as meaningful communication.
Transitional Rehabilitation Unit:
A short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation unit caring for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other acute illnesses or injuries. Nursing responsibilities often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management.
Long-Term Care Unit:
A unit providing ongoing nursing care in a home-like environment for residents requiring long-term placement.
Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to post-acute and long-term care residents
Perform assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
Provide IV therapy, wound care, and skilled nursing interventions as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care
Document care accurately using the electronic medical record system
Float to other units as required based on staffing needs
Job Requirements
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Maine or compact license
Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (1–3 years preferred)
Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute settings preferred
Skills:
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Flexibility to provide coverage across all shifts and float between units as needed
Compunnel Healthcare Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
