The OpportunityAs a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your diagnostic imaging specialty plays a pivotal role in providing top quality patient care. Through your expertise, utilizing specialized equipment, radioactive materials and innovative procedures, we are able to achieve accurate diagnoses, which is vital in the creation of treatment plans for our patients.
Education & Experience- CNMT or ARRT(N) certification required
- Licensed by the State of Maine as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification or due within one month of expiration required
- Current DOT HAZMAT training certificate renewable every three years

- Prepares, measures and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic studies.
- Is responsible for direct patient safety and following all procedural protocols.
- Performs and assists with nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams.
- Maintains all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintains all JCAHO and ACR accreditation requirements.
- Is able to perform Regional Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT support at multiple contract sites as a contract technologist.
- Assists in clinical instruction for radiology and nursing students in the field of nuclear medicine.
- Maintains patient care quality standards as it relates to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
- Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceuticals and materials; calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of a radiologist.
- Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
- Calibrates equipment.
- Performs diagnostic nuclear medicine and PET/CT exams on patients as prescribed by physician.
- Uses nuclear scintillation cameras, CT and PET/CT scanners for detection and correction of radiation emitted to produce image of organ on PACs archival system.
- Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors.
- Follows radiation safety techniques and policies in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
