Join the Walgreens team as a Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprentice. This apprenticeship program is an “earn while you learn” opportunity recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor, designed to guide you toward becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Base pay range: $17.00/hr – $20.50/hr the actual compensation will depend on your skills, experience, and geographic location.

Our pharmacy technician positions have evolved from a transaction‑based environment to a patient‑centric one. As an apprentice, you will interact with customers, develop strong patient relationships, and use the latest technology to grow your career.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and perform pharmacy department duties in accordance with company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, coach other technicians and cashiers.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience: greet customers, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships with valuable customers.
• Assist with inventory management, mobile pharmacy operations, and clinical services such as sample collection and labeling.
• Maintain accurate inventory, file claims, and support the pharmacist with labeling, dispensing, and quality improvement procedures.
• Handle telephone calls, process manual claims, and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining the pharmacy department’s cleanliness, organization, and stock levels.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program, required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend manager‑requested training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate medication counting, measuring, and weighing.
• Computer proficiency and knowledge of store inventory control.
• Existing PTCB certification.
