Central Maine Heart and Vascular seeks Radiology Technologists (Rad Tech, IR Tech) for our specialty labs. This per diem position offers opportunities for advanced learning, cross‑training, and guaranteed hours.
The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs, provides direct and indirect supervision of Radiologic Technology students, participates in CQI activities, and works on call, weekend and holiday schedules.
Education and Experience- Graduation from an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- State of Maine Radiologic Technologist License.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Licensed by the State of Maine to practice and administer radiation.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification (renewal due within one month of expiration).

Responsibilities- Ensure patient safety and minimize hazards during imaging procedures.
- Safely handle radiographic equipment and perform all aspects of patient care to reduce medical errors.
- Instruct and prepare patients for roentgenographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
- Select appropriate imaging products for procedures.
- Position patients and shield accordingly.
- Operate fixed fluoroscopy equipment during cardiovascular procedures (Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, Endovascular). Scrub with physicians for all imaging procedures.
- Practice aseptic techniques and assist in maintaining records and reports.
- Enter data via a computer terminal and assist in training students.
- Take cardiovascular call per schedule, working weekends and/or holidays.
- Interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Complete all work competently and efficiently by shift end.
- Demonstrate knowledge of local fire and safety regulations, hospital policies, and interdepartmental functions.
- Cooperate with department performance improvement initiatives and maintain quality assurance information.
- Provide age‑appropriate care for patients, including geriatric and general populations.
- Deliver customer‑service, providing support and assistance to foster an exceptional service environment.
- Associate’s degree from an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology (BS or MS accepted).
- One year of radiology and/or cardiovascular experience preferred.
- ARRT certification.
- Licensed by the State of Maine to practice and administer radiation.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification (renewable within one month of expiration).
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or completion within one year of hire.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
