Part‑Time Faculty – Physical Geology with Lab (Lewiston, Maine)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a qualified instructor to teach GEY 101:
Physical Geology with a laboratory. The course uses a variety of modalities, including in‑person & hybrid, with the primary location at the UMA Lewiston Center. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and to developing an innovative curriculum.
Teach and lead the physical geology laboratory course (GEY 101), develop and update curriculum, evaluate student learning, and provide mentorship to students. Use technology to enhance instruction in both in‑person and hybrid formats.
Required Qualifications- Master’s Degree or higher
- A background in the physical sciences
- Prior college‑level teaching experience, using new technologies in teaching
- Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace
- Discipline‑related work experience
- Teaching non‑traditional students
- Experience working with diverse student populations and interest in supporting UMA’s mission of transforming lives of students
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous college teaching experience, in accordance with the PATFA contract.
