Overview
Position Summary:
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on transport refrigeration units (TRU) according to OEM procedures, maintaining and repairing trailer interior walls, floors, doors and accessories; operates TRU in diagnostic and service test modes; diagnoses and repairs electrical and refrigeration systems; and supports tractor climate control systems and communications systems using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain and repair trailers according to established procedures, including electrical wiring, lighting, interior panels, roof repairs, tires, doors, and thresholds.
- Perform preventative maintenance of tractor-trailer braking system components (e.g., hydraulic, air, anti-skid, ABS, EBS) in line with protocols, including adjustment or replacement.
- Install and dismount tires, repair flats and balances, and perform advanced axle alignments using electronic equipment.
- Receive fuel drops and conduct fuel sampling, monitor safety, collect and prepare fuel samples for analysis and shipping, and complete necessary documentation.
- Identify warrantable repairs, enter condition/cause/correction into the maintenance system, create warranty tags, retain parts per guidelines, and create/process warranty claims for proper credit.
- Assess maintenance, repair, and replacement needs; identify parts and solutions; conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on Walmart equipment (tractors, trailers, road trucks, shop equipment, etc.); complete work orders, logs, and other required documents; assist others with repairs.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics; implement related action plans using Open Door Policy in business processes.
- Complete work assignments by prioritizing tasks, coordinating with managers and colleagues, communicating progress, and addressing improvement opportunities; adapt to change and feedback.

- Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in trailer refrigeration maintenance and repair (e.g., diagnostic and component replacement)
- EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, 396.25
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, 396.19
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). maintaining tractors and trailers (preventative maintenance, repairs)
- Thermo King Master Tech, Carrier Master Tech or equivalent
- Using computer applications (email, spreadsheets, word processing)
- ASE Certification
