Shipping Utility

Overview

The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper's facilities, producing paperboard and employing over 700 people. It is located two hours from Clearwater Paper's headquarters in Spokane, Washington, and is a key component of Clearwater Paper's business strategy. The Lewiston mill is on the border of Idaho and Washington and offers a range of outdoor activities and opportunities for community involvement.

Lewiston is near the University of Idaho, Washington State University, Lewis-Clark State College, and several strong K-12 districts.

The Utility is the entry level position in the Shipping area of the Lewiston mill. Responsibilities include movement of product between lines of operation and loading/unloading of materials.

• Operate forklift/clamp truck in a safe and efficient manner, following all workplace safety guidelines
• Assist in all areas of the designated department (Shipping)
• Fill in as needed due to time off vacancies
• Move material and load equipment
• Conduct minor maintenance activities
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment in areas of responsibility based on preventative maintenance routes/check sheets/frequencies
• Attend and apply training provided by the Company, both job and department specific
• Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, safe driving practices, etc.)
• Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
• Distribution, Industrial, or Paper Manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
• Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
• Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
• Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.

Starting pay is $23.61 per hour and will increase to at least $24.86 after the successful completion of the initial 90 day probation period. Eligible for one (1) week vacation after successful completion of 90 day probation.
