Microbiology Laboratory Aide – 7 On/7 Off Position Type/

Hours:

Full-time, 7on/7off, Monday – Sunday, 10:00am – 8:30pm

Core Lab – Lewiston, Idaho

Support Microbiology and other departments as needed by setting up and processing specimens for testing, performing maintenance, monitoring inventory, and performing other duties as assigned.

• Understand and adhere to all safety and HIPAA related standards to ensure high quality patient care.
• Ensure accurate data entry into the laboratory information system.
• Label and store specimens as required according to established procedures.
• Follow specific guidelines for specimen acceptance and set-up.
• Participate in continuing education, Quality of Service and Quality Control Indicators.
• naa Complies with established department policies, procedures, and standards of operation; enforces safety and infection control policies and established.
• Communicate in a professional manner, maintaining patient/client confidentiality.
• Cooper või with department and laboratory staff to maintain harmonious working relationships among employees.
• Works with Compliance Officer on issues pertaining to Medicare/Medicaid regulations to assure 100% compliance.
• Demonstrate accuracy and proficiency in registering and ordering laboratory tests through the laboratory information system.
• Handle requests for special services such as STAT specimens, prudently and efficiently.
• Ensure the requisition order contains the appropriate information for each patient.
• Maintain clean and stocked work areas.
• Help monitor and stock inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
