GSL Education London Branch is excited to be looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join a friendly and supportive coeducational secondary school in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Finance Officer who is passionate about working in education and making a real difference behind the scenes.

If you are a skilled Finance Officer with strong organisational skills and a good understanding of school finance systems, this role could be perfect for you. As a Finance Officer, you will play a key part in supporting the school s daily operations and financial planning.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Finance Officer who is ready to start as soon as possible and commit to a long-term role. This Finance Officer position offers great experience within a school environment and the chance to work with a dedicated team.

• Manage daily financial transactions and records

• Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately

• Support budgeting and financial planning

• Maintain clear and organised financial files

• Prepare reports for senior leaders when required

• Monitor income and expenditure

• Ensure all financial procedures follow school policies

• Work closely with staff and external suppliers

• Previous experience as a Finance Officer or in a similar finance role

• Must be comfortable working with purchase ledgers as this is a big portion of the role.

• Experience working in a school setting is preferred

• Good knowledge of basic accounting and finance systems

• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

• A professional and reliable attitude
