Responsibilities- Supervising Classes:
Oversee classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students engage with the provided lesson plans. - Maintaining Classroom Discipline:
Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, managing student behaviour and promoting respect. - Supporting Student Learning:
Provide support to students during lessons, helping them with tasks and ensuring they understand the work set by their teachers. - Monitoring Progress:
Observe and report on student behaviour and engagement, providing feedback to teachers regarding student progress and any issues that arise. - Assisting with Lesson Preparation:
Prepare classroom resources and materials as needed, ensuring that the classroom is ready for learning before the lesson begins. - Conducting Assessments:
Occasionally administer tests or assessments and assist with marking, under the direction of a teacher. - Encouraging Participation:
Foster a supportive learning environment by encouraging all students to participate actively in lessons and group activities. - Liaising with Staff:
Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding the day's lessons, student needs, and any behavioural or academic concerns. - Supporting Extracurricular
Activities:
Participate in and support extracurricular activities and school events, helping to promote a positive school culture. - Adhering to Policies:
Follow school policies and procedures, especially concerning safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management.
- A degree in any subject area, showcasing your commitment to academic excellence. Holding a degree at 2:2 or higher is preferred.
- Preferable previous experience of working in a school as TA/CS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.
- An enthusiastic and proactive approach, demonstrating your passion for education and your willingness to go above and beyond to support student learning.
- Flexibility and adaptability, as you will be working across various subjects and supporting different teaching styles.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment.
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
