We are hiring a Seasonal Housekeeper for Dogfish Inn from April-October in Lewes, DE.
As a Seasonal Full Time Housekeeper, you'll help create the clean, cozy, and delightfully offcentered spaces that make our guests feel instantly 're the behindthescenes hero who keeps rooms sparkling, linens fresh, and common areas welcoming, all while bringing a friendly, guestfirst spirit to every interaction. This role thrives on the buzz of fastpaced summer days, especially during the big turnover moments on weekends, Mondays, Fridays, holidays, and special events.
Flexibility, teamwork, and a sharp eye for detail keep the good vibes flowing. Daytime availability throughout the summer season is key as you help ensure every guest's stay starts and ends with a smile.
- Perform daily cleaning of all rented guest rooms.
- Strip rooms, make beds, launder linens (including inhouse washing), mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and sanitize all surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect guest bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors.
- Stock rooms with required amenities: minibar items, glassware, paper goods, towels, and guest supplies.
- Ensure all rooms meet cleanliness and presentation standards for quick turns, stayovers, and arrival inspections.
- Follow all cleaning SOPs and assist in refining or updating seasonal procedures when needed.
- Manage daily flow of dirty and clean linens.
- Operate onsite laundry machines safely and efficiently.
- Organize laundry storage spaces and maintain accurate linen inventories.
- Anticipate peak season linen needs and communicate shortages promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the lobby, office, corridors, stairwells, and common areas.
- Keep outdoor walkways and entryways clear of sand, dirt, leaves, dog hair and trash.
- Empty trash and recycling throughout the property and maintain clean receptacle bins.
- Perform light building tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening screws, light plumbing or adjusting blinds.
- Work safely with a variety of cleaning chemicals and power tools and follow all safety procedures.
- Maintain organized storage closets, laundry room, and supply rooms.
- Ensure proper inventory levels of cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
- Keep the laundry room orderly and compliant with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Greet and engage with guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Respond to guest requests or needs promptly and courteously.
- Support the guest experience by maintaining a polished, attentive, and service oriented demeanor.
- Required:
High School Diploma or GED. - 3 years of housekeeping experience in hotels, inns, or rental property environments.
- Strong attention to detail and consistently high cleaning standards.
- Selfstarter; motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals, power tools and housekeeping equipment.
- Work Schedule Requirements:
Seasonal full-time role up to 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed; schedule varies with occupancy and operational needs. - Must have flexible daytime availability. Required availability on weekends, plus Mondays and Fridays (primary turnover days). Typical shift window: 8AM - 4PM and 9AM - 5PM. Must be able to work holidays, weekends and peak periods as required.
Level: 10
In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe pay rate for this role if hired is $18 per hour.
