- Plan, develop, and implement a diverse range of individual and group activities that promote the well-being and enjoyment of residents.
- Organize special events, outings, and celebrations tailored to resident interests and needs.
- Assess resident needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, social services, and therapy staff, to ensure activities meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of each resident.
- Supervise and train activity aides and volunteers, ensuring activities are carried out in a safe, engaging, and professional manner.
- Track and document participation in activities, noting any significant changes in resident behavior or needs.
- Ensure that all activities comply with the facility's policies, state regulations, and safety protocols.
- Create and maintain a calendar of monthly, weekly, and daily activities, ensuring a variety of programs are offered.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure activities foster a positive, community-centered environment.
- Manage the activity budget, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper allocation of resources.
Activities Director What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification as an Activity Director (Required).
- Previous experience working as an Activities Director or in a similar role in a long-term care or healthcare setting is Required.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with seniors.
- Ability to engage and motivate residents with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
