Job Title: PET Scan / Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Part-Time (32+ hours/week)

  • Hourly Rate: $36.57 – $56.68 (based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled PET Scan / Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established professional standards and departmental protocols. This role involves direct patient care, advanced imaging techniques, and collaboration with physicians and radiology staff to ensure high-quality diagnostic results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review consultation requests and follow special instructions from ordering physicians
  • Consult with Radiologists as needed regarding exams
  • Prepare, calibrate, document, and administer radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, and inhalation
  • Perform in vivo and in vitro nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures according to established protocols
  • Greet and properly identify patients; clearly explain exam procedures to patients and family members
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Nuclear Medicine equipment and imaging systems
  • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and proper anatomical positioning
  • Maintain daily activity logs and complete all exam documentation accurately
  • Perform daily quality assurance testing and preventive safety inspections on equipment
  • Ensure proper storage, inventory management, and ordering of Nuclear Medicine supplies
  • Monitor radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self
  • Respond to emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed
  • Coordinate add-on exams and collaborate with other departments to ensure access to care
  • Verify accurate order entry and supply charging
Qualifications
  • One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred
  • Ability to complete Point of Care Testing training during department orientation
  • Ability to lift and assist patients up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail, patient-focused communication, and teamwork skills
