HGV Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for technical problem-solving and a commitment to quality service. Previous experience is required, this is to work on refuse trucks.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic software
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems efficiently
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
• Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with other team members to optimise operational performance
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times

• Proven experience as a Mechanic within an industrial or manufacturing setting
  
  Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are desirable
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential depending on the role’s requirements
