Job Title:
Laundry Attendant
Hours:
Flexible shifts between 7am – 11pm (rota-based) - 7 Days a week.

Operations Manager
Type:
Full-Time / Part-Time
To deliver high-quality laundry services including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, stain removal, and customer service. The Laundry Attendant ensures all garments are handled with care and processed to Launderette Maids’ standards.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service & Front of House:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Handle check‑ins, collections, payments, and customer enquiries.
- Guide customers on self‑service machine use when required.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming environment for customers.
- Laundry Processing:
- Sort laundry by colour, weight, fabric type, and wash requirements.
- Identify delicate items and follow specific cleaning instructions.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, dosing systems, and settings correctly.
- Monitor load progress, ensure proper chemical dosing, and adjust cycles as needed.
- Fold and package laundry to company standards.
- Ironing & Finishing:
- Iron a variety of garments using commercial irons/steam tables.
- Finish shirts, uniforms, bedding, and delicate items to a high standard.
- Check garments after ironing for quality, creases, and presentation.
- Ensure finishing areas are kept clean and safe.
- Stain Identification & Pre‑Treatment:
- Inspect incoming items for stains, marks, or damage.
- Apply basic stain‑removal pre‑treatments.
- Escalate complex stains or delicate fabrics to senior staff.
- Record stains that could not be removed to maintain transparency with customers.
- Back‑of‑House Duties:
- Keep laundry zones tidy and compliant with health & safety guidelines.
- Report machine faults or maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with stock control of detergents, chemicals, and packaging.
- Maintain organised storage of sorted, washed, and completed orders.
- Operational Support:
- Follow checklists, SOPs, and opening/closing procedures.
- Support delivery/collection orders when required.
- Ensure accurate tracking, bag labelling, and order management to prevent mix‑ups.
- Work with other team members to keep workflow moving efficiently.
- Assist front house with laundry operations during quieter periods:
- Sorting and moving laundry bags
- Loading/unloading washers and dryers
- Folding and packing finished orders
- Strong attention to detail and garment care awareness.
- Confident in ironing and finishing tasks (training provided).
- Basic understanding of stain removal or willingness to learn.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and physically capable of lifting laundry bags.
Preferred but not essential:
- Laundry, housekeeping, hospitality, or retail experience.
- Prior ironing or stain‑removal experience is a bonus.
No formal qualifications required. Useful but optional:
