Age UK East Sussex is an independent Charity working in East Sussex to offer support and services to older people. We want to make East Sussex a great place to grow older.

Lewes House of Friendship Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver: It’s important to provide accessible facilities for the over 50s and wider community. At the Lewes House of Friendship we deliver freshly cooked hot meals to members of who aren’t able to come into the House to eat.

As a volunteer delivery driver, you’ll be presenting a smart and professional image with a welcoming approach. You will have a sociable attitude, be reliable and honest, empathic, and have a love of meeting new people. It’s important that all of the meals are delivered in a timely manner to ensure that all of our clients receive a hot meal, you must have a driving licence and your own vehicle, and an interest in working with and for the benefit of people in later life.

We will provide you with all the training and support required for the role.

We are currently looking for 2 volunteer drivers on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12-1pm. A basic DBS check will be required, and you must be aged 18 or over. Travel expenses will be covered.

• Deliver freshly cooked hot meals to members who can’t come into the House, in a timely manner.
• Present a smart and professional image with a welcoming approach.
• Demonstrate a sociable attitude, reliability, honesty, and empathy; enjoy meeting new people.
• Maintain the safekeeping and timely delivery of meals while you travel with your own vehicle.
• Represent Age UK East Sussex in a positive manner and contribute to the benefit of people in later life.
• Participate in training and ongoing support provided for the role.
