Pre-School Centre Manager

To provide safe, high quality education and care for early years children. To fulfil legal and statutory requirements. To lead and manage staff on a day-to-day basis. To contribute to and to implement early years policies. To ensure that all statutory legal and setting obligations are followed and met

Requirements
  • Level 3 and above in Childcare
  • 1 years' experience as a Pre-school manager (Required)
  • Commit to 30 hours per week (term-time only, open 48 weeks of the year)
  • Shift pattern:
    Mon 9am - 12pm / Tues 8am - 3:00pm / Day off Wednesday / Thurs 8am - 3:30pm / Fri 9am - 3:00pm
Responsibilities
  • To manage the provision of the preschool ensuring that parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality, stimulating childcare
  • To take overall responsibility for drawing up long-term, medium-term and sessional curriculum plans which take into account the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and monitor the effectiveness of the setting’s curriculum; in consultation with the Deputy Manager and where appropriate working with external professionals.
  • To be responsible for providing a high quality of education, learning and care, ensuring that staff are properly deployed, and to offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children attending the setting.
  • Resposnisbile for 1 deputy Managaer, 1 Administrator, 5 Assistants, Volunteers and Students
Deputy Manager and SENCO

The Deputy will work together with the Manager and Management Team to support the day-to-day running of the Pre-School, to create a happy, stimulating and safe learning environment where children can maximise their physical, intellectual, emotional and social potential

Requirements
  • Level 3 and above in Childcare
  • Commit to 20 hours (term-time)
  • Some experience of managing or supervising staff
  • Minimum of 3 years experience of working within a childcare setting and some experience of working with children with SEN and/or disabilities
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager with curriculum planning and ensure the Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) is promoted and delivered within the setting and the principles adhered to
  • In the absence of the Manager supervise and support staff, ensuring they are properly deployed and high standards of care and teaching are met
  • Ensure that each child is working towards learning outcomes, while monitoring the effectiveness of the pre-school curriculum through regular observations and assessments
  • Contribute towards implementing duties relating to relevant legislation including the SEND Code of Practice 2014 and the Equality Act 2010
Pre-school Practitioner

To work as a key person and as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Requirements
  • Level 2/3 and above in Childcare
  • Willingness to learn and undertake further training
  • Committ to 12 hours per week initially / part-time (term-time only)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays plus the opportunity to cover for staff absence
  • Open Mon , Tues, Weds, Thurs & Fri 9.00-3.00 (staff hours  or 3.30 as appropriate)
Responsibilities
  • To be involved with curriculum planning using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for guidance
  • To help to set up equipment and activities for the daily programme and to help tidy away after the session as this is a ‘pack away setting
  • To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met
  • To work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
