Overview
Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician.
Responsibilities- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
- Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
- Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
- Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
- Perform call backs and refill medications.
- Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician.
- Perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
- Understand normal vital parameters.
- Comfortable with IV catheter placement and venipuncture.
- Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
- Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.
Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment. Knowledge of neuro patient care and willingness to advance skills in a multistep clinical setting is preferred.
Shift and PayShift:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm
Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system.
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
- Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
- Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential
