Laboratory Assistant - Rural Health

Performs routine collection procedures, assists technologists and technicians in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Histology. Processes laboratory specimens. Coordinates and performs clerical/reception, client/patient/customer related duties pertaining to laboratory testing and relays information between the laboratory, other hospital areas and clients.

Summary: Perform routine laboratory collection procedures, assist in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Histology, and process laboratory specimens. Provide clerical/reception support and relay information between the laboratory and other hospital areas and clients.

• Education: HS Diploma OR GED Equivalency
• Experience: Laboratory experience
• Phlebotomy experience
• Medical Terminology
• Computer experience to include Windows Excel and Word
• Preferred familiarity with roles such as Lab Assistant, Phlebotomy, Lab Tech, Patient Care Technician, CNA, Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant, and related healthcare fronts
