The Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) is a non‑profit potato grower organization that aims to increase the success of the potato growing industry in Alberta. To accomplish this, the PGA works on three fronts: education and extension, promotion, and research. The PGA is the voice of the potato industry in Alberta.
Communications SpecialistThis is a unique opportunity to ensure that PGA maintains a positive brand image while fostering meaningful connections with members, partners, and the public.
Responsibilities- Strategic Communications & Brand Management
- Social Media & Website Management including Content Development & Engagement
- Newsletter Creation & Other Written Correspondence for Member Group
- Collection & Distribution of News, Events, and Updates Relevant to Growers, Consumers, & Industry Partners
- Stakeholder & Media Relations
- Subscription/Application Management
- Creation of Ongoing Photos & Videos for use both Online and in Print
- Assisting with Promotional Materials for Public Education & Outreach
- Other Duties as Required
- Post‑Secondary Education in a Related Program & 3‑5 Years of Practical Experience
- Team‑Orientated with Excellent Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills with Strong Attention to Detail & Accuracy
- Graphic Design & Video Editing Experience
- Technically Savvy with a Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Apps, and all Social Media Platforms
- A Desire to Present the Message of the Organization to the Members and the Public
- Creative with an Eye for Detail while being Deadline Focused & Process Driven
- Valid Class 5 driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle
- Ag Experience/Knowledge Considered an Asset
- A Diverse and Fulfilling Role with the Canadian Leader in the Industry
- $55 000 - $60 000 annually based on experience
